As Little as Possible – As Much as Necessary

For baby and pregnancy skincare, a long INCI list is not a sign of quality. What matters is a carefully balanced system of mild ingredients, skin protection, hydration, suitable textures and microbiological safety.

  • Fragrance-free, low-irritation product concepts
  • Anhydrous oils and balms can be formulated without conventional preservatives
  • Water-based lotions and cleansing products require an effective preservation strategy
  • Selected plant oils, butters, squalane and barrier-supporting lipids

For water-based cosmetics, claims such as “without chemical preservatives” should not be made indiscriminately. Our objective is to use an appropriate and minimal preservation strategy. Depending on the formulation, anhydrous oils and balms can be developed without conventional preservatives.

Frequently Asked Questions About Private Label Mother & Baby Skincare

What does “pregnancy safe” mean in cosmetics?

“Pregnancy safe” is not a standalone legal cosmetics standard. For responsible positioning, the formulation, intended use, target group and safety assessment must be considered together. We therefore prefer specific, product-related communication rather than blanket safety promises.

Can mineral sunscreen be developed for children and families?

Yes. Depending on the project, mineral sunscreen concepts can be developed for a defined SPF target and subsequently validated through the required testing. Age group, intended use and target market are taken into account.

Is hybrid sun care for children also possible?

Depending on target market, desired texture and product strategy, hybrid concepts can also be evaluated. For strongly natural positioning, however, a mineral concept remains the primary option.

Can baby products be manufactured without fragrance?

Yes. Fragrance-free concepts are particularly suitable for baby, children’s and sensitive skincare and can be specified as a standard requirement for the project.

Can cosmetics be manufactured completely without preservatives?

Depending on the formulation, anhydrous oils and balms can be produced without conventional preservatives. Water-based lotions, creams and cleansing products, however, require an appropriate microbiological protection strategy supported by testing.

Can you develop products for the diaper area?

Yes. Cosmetic barrier balms and protective creams for the diaper area can be developed. Claims to treat or cure diaper dermatitis are not appropriate for a standard cosmetic product.

Can you develop Belly Oil, Belly Butter and Nipple Balm?

Yes. Anhydrous care products are particularly suitable for a minimalist mother-care range. Formulation, ingredients and directions for use are evaluated according to the intended pregnancy or breastfeeding positioning.

Can you develop a Postpartum Recovery Serum?

Yes. Cosmetic concepts can focus on hydration, barrier comfort and a well-cared-for skin feel after birth. Medical or hormonal efficacy claims are avoided.

Is private label mother & baby skincare manufactured in Germany?

Yes. BioCosmetics Germany develops and manufactures cosmetics in Germany and, depending on the project, also supports filling, assembly and regulatory preparation.
